Russia’s X5 Retail launches first Pyaterochka stores in Siberia
NOVOSIBIRSK, Aug 12 (PRIME) -- Russian retailer X5 Retail Group has expanded its Pyaterochka chain to Siberia, where it launched five stores with a total shopping area of 2,890 square meters, the company said in a statement Friday.
“We expect to launch about 60 outlets in Siberia until the end of the year. In September, we plan to launch them in the cities of Novokuznetsk and Kemerovo, and we are preparing for a launch in Omsk in October,” Pyaterochka chain’s CEO Olga Naumova told reporters.
“I think that next year we will have at least 150 outlets of our chain launched in the framework of organic development.”
Local producers will have about 20% on the shelfs of the Siberian stores, she added.
The chain also plans to open three distribution centers in Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Krasnoyarsk in 2017–2018. The chain plans to have 36 functioning distribution centers by 2020, up from the current 21 centers, she said.
